A place for ritualistic processes of death for Hindu culture. The site is located on the banks of the river and idealistic scenario for rituals. Following the context clues the design started with understanding human behavior during the rituals and by providing supporting infrastructure for it. Two large columns at the entrance anchor the design in the vast landscape. The design finds its anchor in the geometrical arrangement of the pyres, giving order and structure to the organization of functions. The pyres are bounded by congregational and retractable seating spaces on both sides, providing the physical boundary to the place. The seating pavilions are placed to create open spaces that are directed towards the river. Whereas the clustered seating provides an assembly of smaller groups.
